POT'S ALREADY 'IN THE MIX'

Legalizing Marijuana

RE: 'Legalizing marijuana: Utterly ludicrous' (Sept.
6).

This letter writer continues to parrot the tired mantra: "Let's not
add pot to the mix" of alcohol and driving. Legalizing marijuana would
add only some rational thinking.

Teens already have access to marijuana anytime, anywhere -- no
questions asked.

And does anyone really believe that teens aren't already driving while
high?

The current prohibitive law isn't stopping anyone from smoking
marijuana -- it's already "in the mix." Legalizing its use would just
be accepting that fact.

The writer closes by saying: "If it's legalized, any teen with a pot
seed and a bag of dirt can grow it." In fact any teen with a pot seed,
a bag of dirt and the mind to cultivate marijuana, can -- and probably
already does -- grow it.
