CROSS-BORDER SHOPPING

Edmonton -- So the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency is "obviously concerned
about drugs coming into the U.S." if Canada legalizes marijuana. (Agency
Warns Of U.S. Influx If Pot Legalized -- Sept. 9). That's understandable.
If contraband on one side of the border were considered legal on the other
side, it would certainly cause problems. We Canadians know that. After all,
most illegal handguns in Canada enter through the United States.

I propose a deal: We'll go along with their war on drugs if they follow our
gun-control regime. Otherwise, let's all just mind our own business, shall we?
