MARIJUANA PROHIBITION TRANSFORMED INTO MAJOR INDUSTRY

Major kudos to Addiction Psychiatrist Gene Tinelli, MD for his
outstanding letter: "Senators Showed Rare Sense on Marijuana Issue
(9-18-02).

Marijuana prohibition has been transformed into a major industry. Many
people, industries and institutions have a vested financial interest
in making sure marijuana never becomes legal in either Canada or the
U. S.

Both drug dealers and drug warriors have the most to loose if
marijuana is legalized. They both would be out of business.

Taxpayers and citizens have the most to gain if marijuana is
legalized, regulated and taxed.
