DRUG FRAUD

Fraud is defined to be "an intentional perversion of truth" or a "false
misrepresentation of a matter of fact" that induces another person to "part
with some valuable thing belonging to him or to surrender a legal right."

John Walters is director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy,
which has a $3.6 billion budget in 2002. The request for fiscal year 2003
is for $3.8 billion.

Compare the statements in scientific studies with his misquotations of the
same, and there is no doubt that he has deliberately perverted the truth.
His false representations lead to the imprisonment of hundreds of
thousands of people each year.

This results in a large cost to taxpayers, directly in his office and
through the expanded war on drugs, including the 30 years of conflict in
Colombia and the 25 years of war in Afghanistan.

If he were a CEO instead of an appointed politician, no one would put up
with it.

I think it's time to start asking some hard questions.
