UNJUST SENTENCE

Re "10-year sentence in medical pot case," Oct. 8: Bryan James Epis was
sentenced to 10 years in prison for growing his medication and growing
medicine for patients. He was not "dealing marijuana"; he was
compassionately supplying medical patients.

The federal government has no business coming into our state and telling us
that our votes are overruled by its opinions. President Bush keeps yapping
about states' rights. All talk and no action. Another lying politician.
Nothing new.

Proposition 215 has been law since 1996 and yet here a family man going by
the law of his state will go to jail for 10 years. Where is the justice
part of "Freedom and Justice for all" of our pledge of allegiance? It was
taken from Epis today.
