The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration announced the awards. Hope Action Care, a nonprofit agency that provides a variety of services for the poor and indigent, was awarded $500,000 to expand substance abuse recovery programs for HIV-positive Hispanics and African Americans and to enhance programs for drug screening, detoxification, psychiatric evaluation and methadone maintenance.
