Just before 3:50 a.m. a sport utility vehicle left the road and hit several guardrails on Regional Road 25, south of 15 Sideroad. No one was injured in the crash. Police say a search of the driver's personal effects produced small amounts of marijuana and magic mushroom. There was less than five grams of each drug found according to Halton Sgt. Val Hay. Jayson Bouwkamp, 27, of Brampton, has been charged with impaired driving, refusing to provide a breath sample and drug possession. He has been a Peel officer for three years and works in the 21 Division (Bramalea/Malton) Neighbourhood Policing Unit. Peel's professional standard's department is investigating to determine if Bouwkamp should be suspended from active duty pending the outcome of the charges in court. - --- MAP posted-by: Terry Liittschwager
