FAILED WAR ON DRUGS

I'm writing about Betty Kruk's letter: "Vote No on Pot Question" 
(10-16-02). Those with a vested financial interest in perpetuating our 
failed war on drugs will do anything and everything to make sure marijuana 
is never re-legalized.

Last year there were greater than 734,000 arrests for marijuana violations. 
There were more arrests for marijuana violations than for murder, rape, 
armed robbery, assault and burglary - combined.

It seems to me our police should protect us from people that want to harm 
us - not ourselves.
