WINKLER WONKY

Whether or not it is a violation of privacy to randomly drug test students
is to me not as large an issue as the one of singling out a specific
segment of our population for discriminatory policies.

The catch phrase of "athletes are leaders and should serve as role models"
is all very well and good provided that the other role models in our
communities -- parents, teachers, coaches, school trustees and pastors are
ALL subject to the same treatment and policies.

Therefore, I would encourage all the aforementioned people to roll up their
sleeves or grab the jar and join in on the fun. I wonder if any false
positives will result in the suspension of parenting privileges,
impeachment of government officials or excommunication from religious
practice. Guilty, Guilty, Guilty -- ooops we goofed, sorry about smearing
your good name.

(Somehow, we suspect that testing students for drugs won't stand up in court.)
