Concern over an increase in drug traffic prompted city police and school staff to conduct a search of area schools, Nov. 13. The Camrose Police Service dog, officers and school staff conducted a search of student lockers and it resulted in the seizure of 43 marijuana joints from one locker. A 17-year-old male was arrested and charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and breach of probation. Another locker search resulted in the seizure of suspected drugs and they will be sent away for analysis. Inspector Damian Herle of the Camrose Police Service said police and school staff continue to be vigilant in the fight against drug use. "The schools are pro-active on drug use and the Camrose Police Service will continue to work with them." - --- MAP posted-by: Jo-D
