PAC AGREES WITH SEARCH

It was brought to our attention that criticism has been expressed about the
use of RCMP drug-sniffing dogs and a student's privacy issues. I am
writing this letter to convey our 100 per cent endorsement for having the
dogs do these random checks.

Our administrative personnel have been assigned the role of "in loco
parentis" by every parent who sends their child to the school and therefore
we acknowledge that our administrative team acts in the student's best
interest regarding their safety.

We are appalled at the attitude presented by some who feel "the RCMP has to
realize that they are part of the problem, not part of the solution."

We are proud of the fact that School District No. 51 endorses the policy.
