LORD BATH'S NEPHEW ON DRUGS CHARGE

A nephew of the Marquess of Bath who faces a possible jail sentence
after admitting ecstasy and cannabis charges has spoken of his "drugs
problem" and of indulging in "too much partying".

Alexander Thynne, 41, who lives in a cottage provided by Lord Bath
near his Longleat estate in Wiltshire, was caught with ecstasy and the
drug Nexus when police stopped his car in Devon. Police later raided
his home and found 44 cannabis plants being cultivated in his loft.

Thynne, an artist and the son of Lord Bath's younger brother
Christopher, admitted five charges of possessing drugs when he
appeared before magistrates at Trowbridge, Wilts, on Thursday.

The court was told police found 26.8gm of ecstasy and 1.48gm of Nexus
when they stopped his car on Oct 3. He will be sentenced next month.

After the hearing Thynne said: "I basically took too many drugs. I
partied too much and went out too much. I do have a drug problem but I
am dealing with it."
