DRUG ABUSE: TREATMENT FACILITIES LACKING

Dear Editor,

Several news items in the Vancouver and Langley papers outline the stance 
that both Randy White and Rich Coleman have taken on the issue of drug 
abuse and treatment.

Both gentlemen came out so powerfully on the side of abstinence only, and 
against harm reduction, that I found myself thinking, "Well, gosh, judging 
from the fervency of their beliefs, our representatives must surely be 
ensuring that such treatment is readily available in their shared 
constituencies."

I have searched far and wide in the Langleys, and for some reason I can't 
seem to find these facilities!

Could it possibly be that the people's spokesmen are all talk and no walk? 
Would not their criticism be more worthy of respect if they actually tried 
to do something about the problem?
