MELTON WON'T USE INADEQUATE TACTICS

I can well understand why a few people are a little concerned about Frank
Melton being appointed to head the Bureau of Narcotics.

Let me list some concerns:

* He's not a "good ol' boy," (won't hire buddies).

* He doesn't take payoffs, not even a salary (incorruptible).

* Does not do or say the politically expedient thing (loose cannon in a
buttoned-down administration; hats off to Musgrove for the guts).

* No law enforcement experience (look where all that experience has gotten
us). I personally don't think the "war on drugs" can be won. How many years
and billions down the tubes with no real gain? However, if anyone can bring
about any positive change, Frank Melton can.

We may not always agree with everything he says, but by golly we have to
respect the man for doing what he believes to be right, "And that, my
friends, is the bottom line."
