CYNICAL REPUBLICANS

I am shocked and astounded at the Bush administration's attempt to
equate drugs and terrorism. I do see parallels between the War on
Terrorism and the War on Drugs, but only in terms of both being
totally ineffective. In addition, these policies are ill-defined,
allowing our political leaders (i.e. Bush) to invoke them to justify
any number of other objectives.

I am horrified by the manner in which Republicans in Congress and the
president are cynically using the deaths of thousands of Americans to
justify right-wing conservative policies. Scare tactics would be
beneath a true patriot who would understand that abusing these events
only adds to cynicism about government.
