POT FINES ARE A JOKE

Regarding the Record's Feb. 22 article, Pot Grower Avoids Jail, let's face
it, this is big business. A $30,000 fine is a joke. Where is Revenue Canada
in this?

These people would pay more with a tax audit than they would with criminal
charges.

I find it questionable that our local judges are expressing concern about
being "inappropriately influenced" by our local elected representatives,
regional council. It is obvious that we need stiffer sentences for home pot
growers. If no one is able to tell these judges that we need and want
harsher penalties, then perhaps we should also elect these judges to their
positions. They could then feel the communities' direct outrage over "stay
at home" prison sentences.
