CANNABIS SCHEME

A SCHEME allowing police to deal informally with those found 
possessing cannabis for personal use has increased the number of 
arrests of people dealing in more serious drugs, the officer 
overseeing the plan said yesterday. Commander Brian Paddick told the 
BBC Radio 4 Today programme that the pilot scheme, being run in the 
London Borough of Lambeth, should be continued.
