PRIVATE-LIFE INTRUSION

SIR, - So it's OK for an actor to take drugs if it enhances his or
her performance, but reprehensible if the drug makes the performance
"lacklustre" Anyway, who cares if this or that drug is harmful as far
as the law is concerned?

No government has the right to punish anyone for ingesting anything,
however harmful. It can punish those whose choice of drugs causes the
user to inflict harm to others, but not those causing harm only to
themselves.
