WERE DARE GRADS IN DRIVE-UP WINDOW?

To the Editor;

When the police shut down the "drive-up window for drugs" (April 8
Post-Standard) and arrested a 24 year old and two 16 year olds, did they
happen to ask if any or all are DARE graduates? (DARE is almost 20 years old).

Did the three young men not see at least one of the 445,000 anti-drug ads
last year? The National Youth Anti-Drug Media Campaign, sponsored by the
Office of National Drug Control Policy, with one billion tax dollars per
year, claim that "90% of our youths see a minimum of seven anti-drug ads
per week".

Maybe the young men are drug-free DARE graduates, but couldn't pass up the
big money prohibition feeds.
