Fred Jackson, Care and Share ministry manager Salvation Army NO DETOX IN ARMY'S PLANS Editor, The News: The Salvation Army appreciates the opportunity to respond to the letters to the editor that have presented incorrect information regarding the Salvation Army's intention for its present location on Cyril Street. The Salvation Army does not intend to make the bridge house on Cyril Street into a detox centre, a treatment centre, a needle exchange or a safe injection site. Rather, the Salvation Army is proposing a bridge residence to provide supportive housing to nine men who successfully graduate from a treatment centre and are coming back into our community. This bridge residence will provide semi-independent living with supportive services including employment and education counselling and job preparation. For more information regarding the Salvation Army's bridge house project, please do not hesitate to call (604-852-9305). - --- MAP posted-by: Keith Brilhart
