Morris POLICE PRIORITIES SHOULD BE ON PROTECTING LIFE In reference to The Daily Reflector story "Murky Tar yet to yield man's body," my sympathy to the mother who raised her son to be a good man only to lose him to crime. To quote the article: "The Town Common has been a routine setting for crime in Greenville. Several years ago, a man was brutally beaten and his girlfriend was raped at the amphitheater. Greenville police dispatched officers there 795 times since 1998. Included in those calls were aggravated assaults, gun shots and armed robbery." Should this note set off a red light for Greenville? Routine patrol, better lighting, or even removing the park all together ... Is it worth lives? I am amazed at the priorities in life. I know it's important to keep drugs off the street, but is an ounce of marijuana more important than a life? Would not the prospect of terrorists among us warrant police investigation? What is the distance between the sheriff's office, the police station and the Town Common? M.E. MORRIS Farmville - --- MAP posted-by: Beth
