GUV READY FOR DRUG TEST

Negros Occidental Gov. Joseph Maranon yesterday said he welcomes the call 
for officials, members of their families and government employees to 
undergo drug tests.

Maranon said he and the members of his family are willing to undergo such 
tests. House Minority Leader Rep. Carlos Padilla (Nueva Viscaya) had 
earlier said that the government's efforts to crack down hard on illegal 
drugs should include drug tests, not only for top-ranking officials, but 
also for their children.

Meanwhile, Maranon said that, to ensure that jails are drug free, he will 
order a saturation drive and investigation of any drug activity at the 
Negros Occidental provincial jail.
