REPORT DRUG PUSHERS VIA TEXT

NOW, you can report drug users and pushers through text messaging.

The City Anti-Drug Abuse Council (Cadac) chaired by Mayor Bernardo Vergara
with Vice Mayor Betty Lourdes Tabanda as action officer linked up with
Smart Communications to make drug crime reporting easier and safer for
Baguio residents.

Smart subscribers can use the cellular telephone number 70010, which was
designated by Smart to exclusively receive reports on suspected drug
pushers and users in the city.

Text messages to this number will be free of charge. Cell numbers from
which the texts originated will not appear thereby assuring the
confidentiality of the report.

To report any suspected drug criminal, Smart subscribers can use the
following format: CADAC (space) name and address of suspect then send the
message to 70010.

The reports will then be forwarded to the Drug Enforcement Unit of the
Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency
(PDEA) regional office for investigation and action.

Tabanda said this in line with Vergara's recent call for a more aggressive
implementation of the anti-illegal drugs campaign particularly the
reporting and arrest of big-time drug personalities in the city.

She added that this is in line with Cadac's thrust to involve all sectors
including non-government agencies in the ongoing campaign. APR
