DRUG BUSTS NEEDED ALL OVER JACKSON

I commend Bureau of Narcotics Director Frank Melton on what he is trying to 
do ("Probe of city gang yields drug arrests," Aug. 19). But, all it is 
doing is moving drug dealers from one neighborhood to another.

South Jackson has gone downhill quicker than any neighborhood in Jackson. 
But you sure do not see anything being done about it.

Very rarely do you see a police officer in the neighborhood, and when you 
do, they don't do anything about what they see.

They need to hit all over the city the way they are in west Jackson.
