CRACK HOUSE AND SPEAKEASY

HOW IS a crack house different from a speakeasy? Both are establishments
designed for the sale and consumption of prohibited intoxicants. Both act as
havens of skullduggery, violence, and criminal enterprise.

And just as the speakeasy disappeared with the end of alcohol prohibition, so
too would crack houses vanish if drug users were left to lawfully pursue their
happiness elsewhere.
