HEMP FEST

To The Editor:

St. Lawrence County's "hemp fest" goes on every year and you report it
every year. ($30M TO $80M IN MARIJUANA?, Sept 14).

Unfortunately Mr. Kelly you partake in the dishonesty to cover up the
drug war fraud. At one time it was comical to burn the hemp. Now it's
turning into a drain on the budget the taxpayers will have to cover.
Legislator Richard Wilson's "useful idiots" are a little more in tune
to his self -perpetuating industry known as, the war on drugs then he
thinks.

Forfeiture funds should be used to reimburse the county for the
harvest that was "really just weeds" (Sept 12).

Do we need a Drug Task Force or sheriff patrol? Since 9/11 most of the
arresting officers are state and federal officers. While looking for
terrorist they stumble across cannabis and then call the DTF.

It's time for the legislators to hold the DTF accountable for their
statistics and find out how many more have been 'overrated'!
