Cook Note: Parenthetical remark by the Sun editor I'D GROW IT BETTER, CHEAPER Re: Flin Flon pot (Gov't weed weak, Sept. 16). I laughed heartily when first I saw how they were growing it, and again recently to hear how poor the quality is, especially when you consider we taxpayers are shelling out more than $5 million for it. I applied (paid) for the documentation in order to grow for the government when they opened the bidding. However, I was disqualified because I was arrested in 1991 for doing just that! I would have, and can still provide a better crop than these "scientists" can, at a fraction of the cost and screwing about. As a matter of fact, the jails are full of people who grow pot, and not necessarily large amounts for sale on the street. It would only go to figure that when the government discovers a need for something, they would screw it up from start to finish. T.
