MARIJUANA: POT LAW POWER ADDICTIVE

Dear Editor,

RCMP Cpl. Dale Carr says that officers can use their discretion,
arrest and search people found with pot, and forward suggested charges
to Crown Counsel [Marijuana still illegal, Sept. 19, Langley Advance
News].

However, he said, such cases do not usually end up in court: "If you
have a single joint, would we seize it? Yes, because you are not
allowed to have it. Would it [the case] be prosecuted? Not likely."

This is code for, "Kiss my butt, or I will bust you."

The police just love these laws. They just love the power and control
they get. It is addictive.

The marijuana laws are "Kiss My Butt" laws, not real laws. It is time
for their demise.
