Deputies say people were going out and harvesting it for them selves. The pro-marijuana smokers group claims it was just wild growing hemp that wouldn't give anybody much of a buzz. I don't know whether they had tried it out to make that determination, but it seems ridiculous to me to be criticizing the drug task force for digging it up. Leaving 60,000 to 70,000 poor quality marijuana plants growing wild doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Leaving it there would simply allow pot growers to plant their own among the wild crop if they knew deputies wouldn't be back. - --- MAP posted-by: Larry Seguin
