RUSH LIMBAUGH

Jonah Goldberg informs us (10/16) that Rush Limbaugh's mistake was not in
being a hypocrite but in becoming addicted and, allegedly, buying illegal
drugs. I contend that Mr. Goldberg knows little about either drug addiction
or hypocrisy.

Mr. Goldberg fails to see that Rush's hypocrisy runs deeper than in railing
against drug users, while doing drugs. How many times did Rush rant about
folks who were soft on crime, while allegedly making a criminal of his
housekeeper? How many times did Rush rant about "bleeding liberals" who
care more about rehabilitating the drug addict than in ensuring stiff
prison sentences for the drug criminal?

I hope he is able to kick his addiction, and I hope that the court will be
understanding of the housekeeper's reportedly criminal actions. But I think
Rush Limbaugh should give serious consideration to a new occupation in
life, in lieu of trying to be radio's voice of reason and moral judgment.
