I don't know who he's gotten stoned with lately, but the stoners with whom I've shared a joint over the last 30 years, seldom if ever lapsed into "awkward stoner silence" or grown sullen and morose. I think mellow is the word that comes to mind, but only after hours of good conversation followed by a robust hike and a yogurt shake.
