SHABU SUPPLY DROPPED: CITY POLICE

THE General Santos City Police Office (GSCPO) noted a significant decrease
in the circulation of methamphetamine hydrochloride known as shabu in the
city.

GSCPO director Jeorge Aquisap attributed the reduction of shabu supply to
the massive anti-illegal drug campaign of local authorities.

"Mga 60 to 70 percent ang nabawas ngayon sa supply dito sa atin dahil doon
natin ito makikita sa sobrang taas sa presyo ng shabu (Shabu supply in the
city dropped by around 60 to 70 percent as indicated by the rise in the
price of the said illegal drugs)," Aquisap said.

Sources said a gram of shabu is now worth P5,000 against P1,000 in the
previous months.

More than 1,000 residents hooked into illegal substance abuse have
voluntarily surrendered to the police.

"We are serious in our campaign. In fact, items taken in the possession of
the suspects are being handled by our crime laboratory to ensure that they
would really face the consequences of their actions," he added. MFV
