MCTEAGUE SHOULD CONSIDER SPARKING UP

LIBERAL MP Dan McTeague's opposition to marijuana decriminalization offers
a fascinating glimpse at the twisted logic of many government officials in
this country. ("It's high time," Dec, 23.) One of the reasons he gives for
keeping pot illegal is the fact that an estimated 15,000 grow operations
are stealing billions of dollars of electricity yearly. Has it not occurred
to him that if marijuana was a legal product, there would be no such thing
as illegal grow operations? Perhaps in order to dull his rhetorical
weaponry, McTeague should consider sparking up; and by all means, he should
inhale.
