RUSH LUCKY; INVESTIGATORS COULD HAVE JUST BARGED IN

Rush Limbaugh claims he is being targeted for the offense of doctor-
shopping to feed his drug habit because he is "well-known," and he feels
that investigators used "unusual and overreaching" methods to seize his
medical records ("Limbaugh wants records kept sealed," Dec. 16). Had he
been less "well known" and, therefore, less wealthy, he would have had to
use other (street-level) means to support his drug habit -- ultimately
being arrested, as he has advocated doing to drug offenders for years.

Instead, investigators stooped to "unusual and overreaching" (old-
fashioned and constitutional) methods of accessing his records by obtaining
a court-ordered search warrant as opposed to simply barging in and muscling
out with them, as the "Patriot (Oxymoron) Act," which he vigorously
supports, allows. Good for you, Rush -- I was starting to think you were
also a hypocrite.
