DEPUTIES SEIZE $250K, MARIJUANA, VEHICLES IN DRUG BUST

An intensive drug investigation by the Robertson County Sheriff's
Department has netted the department more than $250,000 in cash and several
vehicles, which makes the seizure the largest of its kind in the county's
history.

A four to five week investigation into drug-related activities culminated
in the arrest of Gary Crawford, 36, of 2013 Woodwind Circle, Greenbrier.

"Detectives obtained information that led them to investigate Crawford,"
said Sheriff Gene Bollinger. "The investigation resulted in Crawford's
arrest, which is the largest asset seizure and forfeiture in the county's
history."

According to Bollinger, Crawford has prior arrests in Davidson County, but
not here.

Crawford was booked and charged Jan. 13 with possession of marijuana for
resale and felony possession of a weapon. He is currently out on a $10,000
bond and will appear in court April 22.

The investigation into Crawford led detectives to execute several search
warrants, which uncovered approximately one pound of marijuana in
Crawford's possession. But detectives discovered more in this
investigation, which makes the bust the biggest in county history. Along
with the drugs, detectives seized more than $250,000 in cash, several
vehicles and an enormous amount of personal property.

Despite Crawford's arrest, the investigation may not be finished. When
asked if more arrests may be pending, Bollinger said, "the investigation is
continuing."

Authorities say that some items were returned to Crawford, but the
department will use the cash and several items from the bust to advance
future investigations.

Several of the county's narcotic agents and deputies participated in this
massive bust. They included, Captain Stan Henderson, Lt. Don Bennett,
Detectives Randy Henderson, Albert Ridgeway, Scott Jones and Richard Head.
Also, Sgt. Mark Henderson and Deputies Wayne Carlisle and John Doble took
part in the investigation.
