JUST AS HARMFUL

Re: Laura Langille's letter, "Don't decriminalize" (The Sunday Herald, Feb. 2).

If you choose not to decriminalize marijuana because it is potentially
harmful, please be honest and criminalize other substances that are just as
potentially harmful.

Some people are unable to eat small portions of high-calorie and high-fat
foods like chocolate, french fries, and a long list of other potentially
unhealthy foods, so perhaps all of these types of foods should be criminalized.

In addition, perhaps potentially harmful activities such as skiing,
skating, ice hockey and many others should be criminalized to protect adult
citizens from themselves.

For their own good, of course.
