King MARIJUANA QUESTIONS CRY OUT FOR ANSWERS What information does the public need to make informed decisions about changing marijuana laws? Does marijuana cause lung cancer, other kinds of cancers, other respiratory illnesses or other medical problems? What proportion of users become addicted and what are the costs of this to society? Is marijuana harmful to a foetus if used during pregnancy? Does such use lead to later behavioural and learning problems in children? What are the effects of second-hand smoke on children in the home, on the elderly or people with respiratory problems? Is it safe for people to drive and/or work when using it? Does it affect decision-making in the workplace? Who would produce and sell it on a large scale? Would tobacco companies see it as augmenting their declining sales, or would more people smoke tobacco if they were already smoking pot? The London Free Press has the resources to address these issues. How about some hard facts? Jeanne E. King Strathroy - --- MAP posted-by: Richard Lake
