Tousaw Note: Parenthetical remark by the Sun editor POT NOT HARMFUL David Taylor-Young complains The Sun's recent articles about marijuana were biased because he "saw virtually nothing about the harmful health effects of marijuana and not a word about the fact it is a powerful, psychologically addictive drug which has extremely debilitating effects on chronic smokers." Well, perhaps that is because all the science demonstrates marijuana has virtually no harmful health effects, is not addictive and has only minimal consequences for chronic smokers (who comprise a very small portion of total users). There is plenty of research out there that Taylor-Young can find (but I suggest staying away from U.S. sites funded by drug warriors, the information tends to be biased). Perhaps the recent report of the Special Senate Committee on Illegal Drugs would be a good place to start. Kirk I. Tousaw Policy Director B.C. Civil Liberties Association (Who to believe?
