RE-WIRE OUR MARIJUANA LAWS

There is a simple and effective solution to the problem of dangerous indoor
grow-operations (Pot-growers a risk, fireman warns, May 21).?

A solution that would eliminate grower's need to illicitly re-wire
electrical systems, causing increased risk of fire. The solution? Legalize
the production and use of cannabis. Let licensed growers build facilities
that are designed to grow.

Let individuals grow in their own homes (one light does not pose the risk
of fire that illicit multi-light operations pose, and inspections could be
required) safely and legally. Let licensed coffee shops sell small
quantities of cannabis, thus eliminating the need or desire for consumers
to buy from black market (i.e. potentially dangerous) operations.

Legalizing has all these benefits and more including, not unimportantly,
allowing adult Canadians the freedom to make decisions about what goes into
their own bodies.
