NOT A BAD IDEA

I would like to address the current situation involving marijuana. It seems
to me that decriminalizing it is not a bad idea.

I read the May 28 article "No jail for pot possession," and I agree with
what Senator Marjory LeBreton said. Driving while intoxicated with
marijuana should have a consequence. I think it should be equal to that of
drinking and driving. Some people will argue that you have more control
when you are "high." This may be true; however, you are still impaired.

As for the 15-gram limit, I believe that is a little excessive. Knowing
that 15 grams is worth more than $100, it seems quite foolish to even think
that would be for personal use. Five grams seems more appropriate.

What I find funny is why alcohol is legal and there is such a fuss about
marijuana. I have read many articles on the consequences of doing both,
drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana. It seems to me that both have
dangerous effects, long-term. Either way, it seems to me that the science
of it should be taken into account, not just morals.
