BLAME FOR BRUTAL CRIME BELONGS TO KILLER ALONE

This is in response to the letter from Gail Cox, the grandmother of
the beloved alleged "killers" (June 2). Who cares what was being
served or smoked at the "tea party," as she put it? No one has the
right to take the life of an innocent human being, no matter what the
circumstances!

I understand her concern and compassion for her grandchildren; I
commend her. However, we were all loving and sweet when we were
children. These are men, not boys, and they are accused of making the
decision to arm themselves, return to the party and instigate a fight
in which an innocent man was killed.

I am tired of people making conscious decisions affecting other
people's lives and, in hindsight, trying to blame them on drugs and
alcohol. This incident is not what happens when drugs and alcohol are
involved at a party. This happened because someone made a stupid
decision and senselessly killed Garet Smith. The host of the party is
not at fault.

Cox is right about one thing: God will be the true judge!
