LUSK FORGOT VICTIMS

EDITOR: I'm writing about Steven Lusk's not-so-thoughtful letter:
"Make it all legal" (6-02-03).

Lusk seems to forget that in a murder, robbery or rape, there is an
unwilling victim.

In a marijuana transaction, there is a willing buyer and a willing
seller, both the buyer and seller walk away happy-unless one or both
get arrested.

If we are going to keep marijuana a criminalized substance because of
its potential danger, please be honest and criminalize other
substances that are just as dangerous, if not more so.

Perhaps french fries, cheeseburgers, doughnuts and a long list of
other potentially unhealthy foods should be criminalized - for our own
good, of course.

In addition, surely you will want to criminalize many potentially
dangerous activities such as hunting, fishing, boating, swimming and
football to protect adult citizens from themselves.

For their own good, of course.
