Deputy Director General Edgar Aglipay, chief of the PNP Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Task Force, presented the suspects to media at the Philippine Drugs Enforcement Agency building yesterday. They were Yan Quan Wang, alias Johnny Ong, 30, and Zhi Gen Wang, alias Jorge Ong, both natives of Fujian, China; Rox Ramos, 31, of Heroes Hill, Quezon City; and Korean Saek Joo Kim, 31, and presently billeted at Millennium Towers in Makati City. Aglipay said the two Chinese and Ramos were arrested after they conspired to sell over two kilos of shabu to undercover officers led by Supt. Eduardo Aciento at the corner of West and Quezon avenues, Quezon City. He said Yan and Zhi tried to bribe the operatives with P300,000 in exchange for their freedom but their offer was ignored. On the other hand, Kim was nabbed in a drug sting at 11:30 p.m. Monday in Barangay Plainview, Mandaluyong City. He yielded four sachets of shabu. Kim's cohort identified only as a certain "Lando" managed to escape. - --- MAP posted-by: Larry Seguin
