END PROHIBITION

Re: "Canada called minor pot player," July 20.

Wow, for once the police stuck with the truth. Let's hope this
continues and prohibition, which causes all the crime related to drug
use, is finally abolished after more than 80 years of useless,
fruitless and utterly foolish war (which is responsible for helping
incarcerate users when they need help, not jail). Jail just
exacerbates the problem, but I guess those employed by our
prison/police complex don't care because it pays their wages.

To all those who support prohibition: I hope you don't smoke, drink or
ingest caffeine, as they are just as dangerous or moreso than 99.9 per
cent of all so-called "illegal" drugs.
