FOUNDERS OF DARE PROGRAM SHOULD BE COMPLIMENTED FOR GETTING INFORMATION TO
CHILDREN

Editor: First I'd like to respond to the last letter written about the Dare
Program not being strong enough. The program can always be better, but the
people who started the program did a great honor to help kids and older
people understand that drugs are dangerous. And any type of help or lecture
does get the information out and it does get heard. The people who did this
should get awards for the time they spent doing it. Not all kids just do it
and there are a lot of kids that I know who never tried it. Parents are the
first defense and information, wherever it comes from, is a second defense
and the law is always the head of this war. Use your good sense to give
credit where due and use the information you know about drugs to help kids
stay away from them.

Second, about motorcycle noise, yes they are loud, but don't get mad
at police for doing their jobs. Their time is jam-packed with stuff
you couldn't dream about and they also are in danger every time they
stop anyone because of the threats they could bump into. Law is law
and not made from them solely. It is upper hands who do this, they
just obey. Police have a heck of a job to do and they are under strict
rules. I know that too, believe me.

I admire the jobs they do and then some. I am a motorcycle rider and
have to abide the laws just as well, still don't be mad at the
officer, he is only doing what the police are supposed to do. Be proud
of what the police do to keep all us safe and pray for their saftey
too, especially nowadays.
