LEGALIZE DRUGS AND REDUCE HARM, HEARTBREAK

Re: "Liberals release crystal meth strategy," Wednesday, Aug. 4.

Let's assume for the moment that those who are demonizing meth are not
lying about it as is done with respect to other illegal drugs.

If users were free to purchase clean, cheap, quality-tested marijuana,
cocaine, heroin, etc., at the corner store, why would anyone bother
with such an awful drug as meth?

In any event, who's to say that most of the harm done by meth isn't
caused by adulterants in the drug, and that when the drug is produced
legally by knowledgeable and reliable people, it will be much less
harmful?

The best way to reduce the harm and heartbreak of illegal drugs is to
legalize them.
