ARMS CACHE' SEIZED

QUETTA: While foiling the terrorist activity, the Frontier Constabulary has 
seized heavy cache' of arms and ammunition Gardi Jangle near Dalbadin on 
Thursday.

The arms include LMG, SMG rifles, rocket launchers, dozens of rounds of 
107MM, hundereds of bullets, hand grenades and explosive materials were 
seized in a raid on the den of smugglers, on a tip off.

However, no arrest has been reported in the raid.

26 drug smugglers arrested in July: Narcotics board

A total of 8926 Kilograms of Charas and 20.49 kilograms of Heroin while 53 
kilograms of Opium has been seized during the month of July 2004 besides 
nine foreigners including six Nigerians were nabbed in the said month for 
smuggling drugs.

Ministry of Narcotics Control released a report Thursday, which informed 
that during the July 2004, 15 narcotics cases were decided by the special 
courts in the country and consequently five were awarded life imprisonment, 
three were given 5 to 9 years imprisonment and eight were awarded 2 to 4 
years jail sentence for their involvement in the drug business.

It was added that 27 new cases were registered while 26 accused were 
arrested on the basis of their involvement in drugs trafficking.

Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control Makhdoom Syed Faisal 
Saleh Hayat has directed the authorities to boost their efforts to check 
the drug trafficking across the borders more vigorously.

He said that Pakistan wanted to see our state and globe free of narcotics 
and in order to achieve the target no stone should be left unturned.
