IF YOU MUST INDULGE, TRY CANNABIS

Thank you for Jody Paterson's short and effective call (Jan. 14) for making 
cannabis legal, pointing out that it is less lethal than either of the 
legal drugs nicotine or alcohol.

She might also have mentioned that cannabis causes less carnage on the 
roads than alcohol, and less permanent brain damage than sniffing either 
gasoline or glue. Lives would be saved, and health less compromised, if 
young people used cannabis rather than more dangerous but legal substances, 
if indulge they must.
