The Foundation for People Against Drug Abuse (Fopada) yesterday said a survey it carried out recently indicates that there is hunger for information from the society on how to fight the vice. Fopada further states that the number of males abusing drugs is higher thatn that of females although there is a considerable number of females hooked to the substances. The organisation's managing trustee, Mr Adonija Baraza, said due to the desire by the people to know how they can curb drug abuse, the government and lead agencies in the crusade against the vice have undertaken to ensure proper the information is made available to them. The official made the remarks during a drug awareness and sensitisation workshop for Administration Police at Tononoka camp in the area. Fopada facilitated the workshop jointly with the Kenya Institute of Professional Counselling. A total of 40 APs attended the event. - --- MAP posted-by: Keith Brilhart
