SUN DOES MORE HARM THAN FREE CRACK KITS, PAMPHLETS

I find it quite ironic the Winnipeg Sun is willing to bash the harm
reduction policy the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and the
Addictions Foundation of Manitoba are following with regard to the
free "crack kits" and the "how to" pamphlet and yet doesn't see any
problem with publishing the going rate to purchase crack cocaine on
the streets.

Perhaps The Sun's editors see nothing wrong in doing this because they
think "if someone wants to do crack, they're going to do it regardless
of what we publish. So we might as well print what is going to sell
more papers and make us more money."

Somehow that is far worse than WRHA officials thinking crack addicts
are going to do the drug anyway, and so it is our responsibility to
try to lessen their impact on the health-care system and to help them
to be as safe as possible.
